I just returned from the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour. Did 3576 miles in the last 10 days with the GTR accompanied by my 14 yr old son. Had a couple problems.
1) Blew the HP AC hose in Mississippi, got a Street Rod shop to make a new one the next day.
2) The Ignition switch quit working, stranding me in the middle of I 10. Hot wired and sourced another at the NAPA store.
Averaged 22 miles per US gallon.
Made some laps around a road course in Louisiana.
Of the several thousand cars at each stop the GTR had the largest crowd around it by far.
The most common asked question: "Is that a Mosler".

Well done Jeff!!!
Wondered where you were.
How many speeding tickets did you get this year?
Will phone you during the week after you've rested up.

No tickets this year. I never went over 130 mph. 5 tickets in the last 2 years on PT were enough. I had several police officers pull into the gas stations while i was filling up to check if it was really street legal.

What did the cops want to see to prove that it is street legal?

Looked at tires, generally snooped around. Probably called in my plate to see if it was registered. One officer made a comment about my GPS, but didn't say anything about my Radar Detector affixed to the windshield.

Cops are just human to. When they see something that nice they want to get a good look at it also.
