Really seems to annoy the majority of other drivers.
As I roll of the accelerator pedal to enter a speed limit on the limit.
As I do the same approaching a junction without a clear view into.
As I also do on the approach to bends until the limit point opens up.
As I leave 2 second gaps everywhere, heinous crime on a Motorway it would seem.
As I anticipate traffic lights.
As I do overtake.
As I slow to enter a junction.
As I use the car's speedometer rather than the GPS based one on my "warning thingy".
Sometimes I think, sod it, perhaps I'll drive like them.

Also, by learning to pay more attention to the road, surroundings, signs and road markings - and to look and think ahead and be more alert - you get a greater understanding of where it is safe and appropriate to drive in a more spirited manner - to spot where the road is opening up - to anticipate the solid white lines ending - to be ready for the first opportunity for a safe overtake ........... and leave those whinging r-souls well behind.As I roll of the accelerator pedal to enter a speed limit on the limit.

I very rarely get funny looks when I drive to the system. Occasionally I'll get some impatient cockmoney behind me who wants me out of his way.

Some people get very angry when you demonstrate their own inadequacy to them. This goes for all sorts of everyday things - decent manners, selflessness, calm, good driving.
Just smile inwardly, remember that you will encounter them for just a fleeting instant whereas they will have to be with themselves the rest of their lives. Keep up the good driving - don't let the bastards win.
For every idiot in a journey that leans on their horn there's another well-adjusted person who'll be thinking, "that's some seriously good driving." It's just that the latter, by their nature, are less obvious. I sometimes think our cars need some kind of universal
signal.

I agree. I love driving through the 50mph limits at 50mph leaving a proper gap etc with some 4x4 yob behind who seems to be looking for blemishes on my alcantra interior. The icing on the cake is seeing if they can keep up with lovely V8 when accelerating back up to erm....... 70mph at the end of the restriction.I often get "funny" looks, but it's like water off a duck's back.

I tend to agree with WG, although I don't think we should get too hung up on these matters to the point where it may detract from our own driving. However, I do prefer to be fairly alert to how others may feel about what I do; it's related to the objective of promoting harmony, and I'm rather into that kind of thing - despite what Mark may think. What you're describing sounds very similar to my own driving, but I don't notice the annoyance you mention. Without going overboard on it, I think there is something in what WG says, and it may be helpful to take some of it on board.

I gave up caring what other people think of my driving a long time ago and in return I don't tell them what I think about theirs either.
Might sound ignorant because it is, I deal with the situations as I see them at the time. If people think I should do stuff differently I will always listen.
As to the OP regarding tailgater's and the like, I get them whatever speed I am doing in whatever limit. If they are still there after the fun bits however I will move over. Sadly though most catch back up in the 30/40/50s as I am sticking to the limit.

Quite, but if it's safe to do so, why wouldn't an advanced driver be driving at the limit?I have heard of an IAM Associate fail for driving in all 30s at an indicated 27ish - not making progress.
Shouldn't an advanced driver be trying to help other road users by not delaying them unnecessarily?

sod them all, if they cant drive or understand you do have a few clues about what your doing then you cant help them. how anyone can get in a tin box & lob it down the road at 'silly an hour' with no concept how to do it safely is beyond me, prehaps unlike me they enjoy fairground rides.
