Servicing my Stag
Discussion
Hi All
Just taken ownership of a nice '76 Manual Stag. Father-in-law has owned it for the past 29 years but has only covered 4k miles in last 15 years! I'm looking for details of a 'Stag specialist' in the Nottingham area who can give the car a really good service and get it ready for a more active life! Any recommendations?
Cheers

Strip and rebuild the brakes, back flush the cooling system, service it yourself, then take it on short runs and build up to longer distances once you are sure it's holding onto its fluids and not overheating.
Specialists - I wouldn't trust them with my car!

There are some real, trustworthy specialists, but they're pretty thin on the ground and most of them will take you to the cleaners just for looking at the car. You'll get much more satisfaction out of doing things yourself. Get a factory workshop manual (BMIHT do excellent CD-ROMS with all the tech info you need these days) and get cracking.
