Heres a wee preview of whats racing over the weekend apart from the Touring Cars. They arent out until tomorrow morning.
Matt neals Civic just getting the stickers applied, completely brand new car built in 2 weeks from scratch after the last one getting destroyed in the huge crash at Brands Hatch, normally takes 2 weeks just to weld the cage in!

Nearly!

Great pics there Col, I am heading up tomorrow for my 1st attempt at touring cars - my 1st experience of KH with my DLSR was the D1 Drift event.

I need to know where I can get access for pic as a member of the public - i.e no press pass wink

Any tips?

To be honest you dont need press passes for knockhill as you can get pretty close to the action as a member of the public, however tomorrow may be a problem as it will be mobbed.
Its very difficult to get trackside for Knockhill especially the touring cars, I am working for Knockhill all weekend thats the only reason I can wander freely!

Some pics from today (saturday)

Chilton comes over the Seat curves and finds a nearly static Honda!

The Hondas wheel got a bit too close for comfort!

Great photos Col - you must have been standing on the inside of McIntyres (or whatever it's called these days). I was stood at the bottom of Duffus when the above incident happened, but watched it all unfold rather than trying to take some photos. Did catch one of the wheel on it's way towards the photographers though, so you can see how close it was!

Although the bottom of Duffus is a good place to watch as you can see the cars for about half a lap, it's not the best for taking photos as the cars come over the hill too quickly, launching themselves in the process!

Good pics Col - Couldn't have been too far from you yesterday at the SEAT curves - saw the accident too.

There again today - at least it stayed dry!.

You must have been sitting right next to me!

I loved it how the green car *smith*'s bonnet was hanging off, for about 6 laps!

One of the Formula Bmw drivers decided to have the biggest crash of the day right at my feet!! He walked away unscathed.
Touring Cars was pretty uneventful but well done to Gordon Sheddon for winning race 3, handy for practice when your wifes dad owns the circuit!

John, thats me with the black hat on and the gloves in the first Chilton pic! and yes the wheel did get a bit close!
The big Marshall woman was very lucky and very stupid! Dont know what she was thinking about but was damn lucky there wasnt a horrific accident.

Good pics there lads, I've got some that I'll get up when I have a chance.

I think I saw one of you on Sunday, halfway down the hill after the first corner (duffus?), saw the PH logo stuck to the side of your lense!

Col - know I know what you look like, I'll give you a shout the next time wavey (though I'll make sure we're standing in a safe place, as it seems you are a magnet for cars having accidents wink)

If anyone is interested, I've uploaded some of my photos to:

Flaming Porsches get everywhere wink

I've still got a few hundred more to sort through when I find the time type

I was on the opposite side of the track when that big crash happned, how that marshall didn't get flattened is a miracle, thought she should have known better!

Some of mine from the weekend in the photography section:

Col,

Great sequence of the Formula BMW crashing, you (or your camera) did well to maintain the focus throughout. If I recall correctly, you had a similar sequnce of shots of a blue Mazda RX8 crashing in roughly the same location sometime last year. Drivers must love it when they see you trackside !
