Brilliant job, couldn't help but think "anyone fancy a pint", Fast Show style, half way through though. And how on Earth did a brand new car get that many scratches?

I am a little confused i presume that the guy doing the detailing is a professional and not the owner.(or both)

The imperfections are pretty much mirrored in my car and that kind of detailing would not go amiss.

Any contact details for that detailing?

He does amazing work but I can't imagine I'd ever want to pay his rates to get my car done.

I am waiting for the 'hells detailing' series and loads of reality tv programs with minor celebs performing car valeting challenges. So they guy washed and polished a car and made it shiny - big wow....

All the photos shows is dont buy a black car as they are a bastard to keep clean or pay £150 to get it permaguarded from the off.

BTW - the use of a buffer on a scratch is ok, but the local chips away chap uses wet and dry to good effect....

You can get a bit anal about it all but it can also be fairly cathartic.
One problem you're always up against is mass production paint and within 20miles the car is covered in shite again, even on the driest days.

Get a Porter Cable polisher, some Sonus polish and Poorboys wax and you can get this quite easily

of course you have to continue around the rest of the car but it can be done in a few hours.

I have fancied having my car detailed but the paintwork (as I know it so well) is shot to f@ck with chips etc. I think a respray on the front end would be better money spent?

You'd be surprised what someone like Chipsaway can do for very little money tbh.

If a hundred HSV/Monaro owners each put in 70 quid each, we could get some and then there would be a good excuse for 'the hundred' to get together for 'Polishing Days' (barbie, beer and chinwag could be included) - and the wax pot is refilled for free in time for next outing. Possible? - just an idea. scratchchin
