Our R56 Cooper S has been smelling of fuel for some time now and eventually I booked it in for the dealer to have a look at today. Just had the call saying that it needs a new fuel pump which is not a problem but the 'high pressure fuel line' is on back order until January!

Going to be talking to the rental manager tomorrow but where do I stand legally on this? Provided that they understand that I want the same car without paying for it and that the mileage will be higher than normal (20k per annum typically) then things should be fine, unless anyone's got any brighter ideas?

Seems a hell of a long time for a part though?

Thats a disgrace, surely they are fitting them on the production line to the new cars, they should be able to source one from there.

I would be making a lot of noise in the dealership, good luck

I would be telling them to get it off a car in their lot... or turning up numerous times at the sales area talking loudly about how bad mini's are... sure that would get them to do something.
