Bet you don't know why it was imposed in the first place (and not Jaguar specific either)?

Can you let me know when you will be able to do 155mph on a daily basis to warrant the restriction being removed? If I lived in Montanna or Germany, I too would be pi$$ed off with the restrction.

G

Incidentally why is it there?

Because of the Germans

a8hex, you are correct in saying "because of the Germans", but I wonder if you know the raison d'etre?

Green lobby in Germany forcing a gentleman's agreement with manufacturers limiting to 250kph (155mph). Although Porsche said no to it and IMHO I think Jaguar is small enough to say no too. They might even get a few dozen extra sales out of it!

yes biggrin

Whilst Jaguar are part of Ford, I don't think they count as small enough to say no.
idea I suspect it also allows them to limit the amount of testing they do above this figure. Warrentees are probably cheaper if you don't have to cover 180MPH+ stuff.

I'm not sure Aston stuck to the 250kph limit when they were part of Ford.

I'm sure they didn't smile
Back when they made real vantages they could make a lorry do over 200MPH smile
And boy didn't they make a beautiful noise. I used to hear one in Wokingham town centre regularly. You even got to see it sometimes.

Early 90's Vantage

Perhaps my favourite car of all time.

I vividly remember the 90's Top Gear when Clarkson reviewed it and it coming out of the workshop to Pink Floyds' "Welcome to the Machine"

OH yes biggrin

I still want one.

However, I had just wanted any Virage, preferably a Volante.

So I went and tried them

weeping
and I didn't like them.
The Coupe was very stable, very sure footed but I found you could feel everyone of the vast numbers of CWT you're dragging around. In the end it just wasn't as much fun to drive as my X300.
With the Volante decided within the first 200 yards it wasn't for me.
Still I nearly bought it anyway.
She who must be obeyed look damn hcensoredy driving it whistle but then I don't think she'd have driven it that often.

I was quite heart broken... I'd been head over heels in lust for 15 years before all my illusions were shattered.
