I went to Lens on Satarday and all they sold was "Amstel FREE" - Sans Al key hol! The thing is the stadium was "once your in you can't go out and return in!" So we were there 2 hours to go and no alch beer!

I wonder if this is the same at all stadiums? Anyone know?

They can't be doing this at Cardiff? Can they?

I believe it is French law that no alcohol can be served inside a stadium.

Crikey! FWIW, they've always served beer at the Millennium Stadium for rugby matches (including the 99 World Cup), and they better still be as I'm going to be there this Saturday, Sunday, next Thursday and for the QF on 6th October! smile

Yeah - I went to the Lions game there 2005 - Lots of beer then!

I thought it may have been a French RWC law or something to that effect.

I'm there on Sat too, hence the mention of Cardiff

Enjoy the game - Australia is going down!!!

Cheers, and the same to you. I wish I could share your optimism, but I can't (although by Saturday morning, no doubt the usual blind optimism will have kicked in biggrin)

Fortunately we set up shop by the McDonalds drive thru window which served ice cold Kronenbourg as long as we ordered food. The supply of beer never ran out and we had nuggets galore.

Roll on Paris this weekend for more of the same!
