...for tomorrow I'm off to look as my fourth S. I've a good feeling about this one - it just all sounds right

Every time I arrange to go and see one, it seems to get sold first :-( He's hoping. Oh, and I'll need to persuade them to keep it for me until Rob Ingleby gets back to inspect it. Not sure how though!

Well, what can I say - love at first sight

I've decided to go with it and put a deposit down and i'll be collecting it next week! It means I'm not going to use the services of Rob Ingleby but I'm going to risk that. I'm happy for him to keep the deposit for his efforts searching.

Anyway, back to the car - It has a full service history, current owner bought from a main dealer four years ago and it has been maintained by David Batty with twice yearly services. It also featured in Evo magazine a few years back and I get a copy of the mag to prove it! Runs really well, good condition (for the age, not a 'show car' but tidy and clean) and just felt right.

The only negative is that I'll need to get a new 'wood' dash and side stripes as they are a bit cracked in places. Interestingly it seems to have a V8S dash, not an S3 one.

It is going to be a VERY long week.

Thanks Pies, wouldn't be a 'new owner' post without your usual smilies

I won't have the car until next weekend. First thing i'll do is take some photos. Ok, I lie - 1st thing I'll do is drive it lots, 2nd thing is wash it and clean the leather. 3rd thing is take the photos

What's a V8S dash as opposed to an S3 one?

Congratulations BTW! You do realise that there's no known cure don't you?

Thanks for all the messages

The V8S dash has slots for the heater controls rather than a seperate plastic panel - if that is the right way to describe it.

Like this?

This is my S3 dash - I think this just conforms to the TVR pic'n'mix standard!

Unfortunately mine also now has the flaking around it (thanks to using the heating controls whilst wearing gloves during the winter I think )!

Have you got any pics of your interior jonk (the S that is, not you personally ) - sounds quite impressive!
