Autocar test 430 Suderia
Discussion
Does it have a lot to live up to? The 360CS was on par with 996GT3, performance wise. The 430S moves the game on significantly with 503bhp/347lbs, while the 997GT3 has stood relatively still, excluding better road manners. But that's maybe as things should be with price differential.
I'm expecting the 430S to be a fantastic car and look forward to the road tests.

Look forward to the test... but will it beat the SL and R8 at the bedford Autodrome who have recorded some of the best laps there and a 2.5 second quicker time than the F430 already!
Those lap times are an anomaly. R8's have neither the acceleration, braking, apex speed and power to weight ratio to touch a similarly piloted GT3 or F430 on 99% of tracks.redfive1 said:
i take your point. However a out of the box 997TT will see all these of. Makes my LP640 look daft on most roads.

Surprised you think so. I followed a 997TT from 20 to 130ish in my Gallardo, both giving it the beans... he couldn't pull away. In a straight line too, so no skill involvedR5
i had a streight line race with a 997t in the 599 on the a40 (from standstill). He got away through first gear but through second and third i pulled to about a couple of car lengths away up to about 1.6-7 leptons. id asume a 640 would shred it as it would have better traction from standstill.

A 599 will out run a stick shift 997tt but only just to 120. The way the tt s spool up on the 997tt tip is on another planet.
I recall road and track recording 0-60 in 3.3 and 0-100 in 7.5.. I am yet to drive a car that out run my turbo. This may change in Oct when my Apollo arrives.

Why don't you shell out for a Driftbox ( http://www.driftbox.com/) and test your 997turbo vs your LP640 side by side(virtually). Most tests (0-150mph) put the 599/LP640 ahead of the 997turbo by a decent margin.A 599 will out run a stick shift 997tt but only just to 120. I havent looked at the 0 to 60's. Must have been the driver holding back then. I just remember him pulling away at the lights infront of me and and then me reeling him in him moving over and then pulling right back behind me as i pulled away. buy about 1.6 leps somone pulled out inront further down so we both had to stomp the brakes. Had a laugh....didnt think there were many people about these days like that...goodman whoever he was.
Turbocharged cars always feel quicker than NA. Driven back to back, I would have sworn the 997TT was quicker than the '07 Gallardo. We got the VBOX on 'em and the opposite was the case although there's less of an intimidation factor with the Porsche which means many will drive it harder than they would a Lambo. Just my 0.02.
