I have to been informed today by my OPC by phone, that dispite owning the cars named below. I can not have a 997 GT2. I paid my 15k months ago.

If any one on this site has a confirmed build slot I will pay 10k over list for there car.I may take a C16 Import RHD

Please contact me on the email add below. A large add will also appear in this weeks Sunday times.

1990 -2000
5 x 911 Turbo
1 x 911 Turbo Le
1 x Turbo Flat nose
1 x 968 Club sport
1 x 74 2.7 Carrera
1 x 944 Cab
1 x 924 Turbo
1 x 924 Carrera GT
1 x 944 Turbo Cab

2000 - 2007
1 x Box S
1 x 996 Carrera Cab
1 x 996 Coupe
1 x 996 GT2. 10K over list OPC
1 x 993 Turbo
2 x 996 Turbo X50 Coupe
1 x 996 Turbo Cab
1 x 997 tt Current car

Over 75% of the cars from 1990-2000 were from OPC and sold back to them.

From 2000-2007 all cars are from OPC and sold, back to them. I am not happy Porsche feel that they can treat loyal customers this way.
Have you written to Porsche GB at Reading to ask why you don't qualify. 997 GT2 is worth battling for. Don't give up to easily.

When you can afford a 997 GT2 you will understand....
If I sold one of my houses I could get one, if they were readily available.

Fact is I'd probably end up wrapping it round a post.

That's an impressive list and contribution to Porsche coffers. On that basis, you'd think a dead cert to be "approved".

You don't seem to have owned any of the cars for much longer than 6 months (judging by amount vs timeframe). Could that have had a bearing? Porsche UK may think you'll sell it in 6 months time, so they approve someone else that bought new and still owns a 993GT2/996RS/996GT2?

Maybe it's just dealers "friend" who gets the nod. Anyone on the inside know how the selection system works?

Sure you'll find one either way. Where there's a will....Good luck.

Wouldn't it be easier talking to someone is Porsche head office before calling in the lawyers?

Not that I think it will help, but more likely than trying to sue them for not selling something to you! It could even be your OPC playing silly buggers.

Still, Porsche don't really seem to have much regard for their customers. I hope it will painful for them if we have a recession and all their new found trophy car customers abandon ship, they could do with learning a little humility.

Bet your OPC principal is making a bit on the side by giving his allocation to friends to speculate with.

I'd take it up with Porsche GB and make as much noise about it as possible.

this is hilarious, I could understand if Porsche "audited" you to give you a car free of charge but you're prepared to pay around £130k. If they have deposits way in advance, why don't they just build the cars? It's not as if they are made from any kind of rare metal that's hard to get hold of or even that they are a completely different model to the 997TT with which they share many parts, particularly the body shell. Sounds like your OPC made a hash of your order.

Hi David,
From talking to a good mate today I believe UK sales are very limited, can't remember numbers but something like 20 a year. I guess there hoping to try and keep residuals up unlike the 996GT2. Personally I don't think you have a cat in hells chance of battling with the OPC's but I wish you the very best of luck.
Why not go for a proper GT2, FBRS could be persuaded to part with his 993.

When the car is launched in germany, i.e soon, check out mobile.de and go over and see one...they are much more abundant here than in england and i bet you could get one a lot earlier too. Ok its LHD but imho not a problem.

Dont waste your time with lawyers and 10k over list for a slot...

Spot on.

If I'd spent what you had on Porsches and been declined a slot, my OPC would never be seeing me again and I'd be taking my titanium card to Pfaffenhausen for something with 700bhp.

Even so I doubt £10k would be enough to secure one.

430 Scuderia aside the 997 GT2 is going to be the must have car this year and premiums will be huge.

I'm sure the usual sharks like Tom Hartley will pay a fair whack more for one.

Seriously hope you get one though. These cars deserve to go to enthusiasts rather than speculators.

May I join the hilarity? I ordered my car 4 years ago - and paid my £15k deposit when requested in July this year.I've been told that I've successfully passed the Porsche audit - how good of them - and I will get the first car to arrive at my OPC. HOWEVER they - OPC - say that they have been told that this will not be in 08 model year, in other words at the earliest after Sept. 08. "OK" I say "so I'm guaranteed a car but not a date but we do know it won't come for at least 12 months and maybe a lot longer so lets have say £10k of my money back until I'm given a date" "Oh no sir - Porsche wouldn't deem you to still be serious on that basis and would cancel your order"

It seems this loyalty thing only works one way. I've recently moved from my GT3 to my first Ferrari and am loving every minute and frankly am inclined to tell Porsche to stuff it. Particularly with lots of exiting new cars like the 430 Scud. and forthcoming Merc, Macca, F430 replacement etc. etc. in the wings.

Look, some advice from a lawyer. Don't pay a lawyer on this one. You're wasting your time.

20 cars. You didn't get one because there are 19 people who spend more than you. It's a hard fact of life, but you're going to have to live with it.

EU law won't help. Trust me.
Hence my post. Your not the only blood sucking lawyer on here you know biggrin

Listen I thought I did well and had some money, until I went to a closing meeting at my office six months ago. I asked the client what he drove, and he listed about twenty cars he had, including Enzo, SLR, Zonda, CGT, Vintage Bugatti (which he shows a Pebble Beach), Bentley, Rolls Royces etc etc etc. Apparently that afternoon he was off to Monaco (by NetJets) to arrange his new boat - a Wallypower - I laughed - then I Googled it and stopped laughing.

He was 24.

EU law won't help. Trust me. You're a long way back in the queue. Admittedly a VERY long way in front of me. But a long way back none the less.

Cheque book time or buy a 430 Scud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
