Following my post about the lack of displays up north, the Northern Echo reports that she will display at Durham Tees Valley on 29th August.
The VTTS website does not have this posted yet but I hope it is true.

DTV Airport was once RAF Middleton St George where a Vulcan has displayed before!

got notice at around 15:20 she was taking off at 16:00 so grabbed the camera and rushed up there, I was at Harmston end of RAF Waddington, no need to rush as she didn't display until around 17:20, a long wait but my god it was worth it!
only took 655 shots biggrin

Has the display changed much? ie: are they chucking her about, as if they wouldn't need her any more after this year?

Having read that this is the last year of her flying is very sad indeed, as living up on the North Yorkshire moors I have from a distance seen her flying from the Sunderland air show and the Scarborough forces day, so as I was telling the wife the day before that I would love to see her up close, but all the shows would be down South there would be little chance of that, anyway yesterday afternoon as I was on the phone I could hear a very loud plane getting closer and closer, I thought that sounds a lot louder than all the RAF jets that train around hear so I went out side for a look just as she flew straight over the top of me, nice and low, it was perfect just like your own private air show, she turned left and headed back South, if only I had a camera at hand.

I wouldn't worry about it. I like to take photos of stuff when I can, but there's plenty of great photos of it and you can't record that feeling as it flies over.

She was doing circuits around the airport at about 4pm today, had some good views driving along Hatfield road heading into to the airport to pick the daughter up from nursery. Not sure if she went back up after landing.

Please Please can we have a barrel roll on the final take off as per 1955??

I'd pay extra...

from what I've read on a fbook group with people 'in the know' if they do a roll the pilot will loose his license, not sure why, but then rumour has it Martin withers is retiring when 558 lands for the last time so in my book it'd be worth grounding yourself for!
something to do with CAA rules and aerobatics of that type of aircraft.

edited to add, I'd fking LOVE to see it happen!!!

Not technically a loop, a half loop and roll off the top (OK just past the top). I've just read Tony Blackman's book and he reckoned a full loop in a Vulcan wasn't really on because of the G force when pulling out. In fact he suggests that some pilots may have previously looped the Vulcan that broke up at Syerston in 1958, and that this might explain the break up.

This is a post from the Facebook group for the North East Aircraft Museum in Sunderland:-

It was announced last Friday that 2015 is definitely the last display season for Vulcan XH558.

A few months ago, I suggested to them that when the time came, a visit to all the remaining Vulcans could be a final fitting tribute to these wonderful aircraft.

I’m delighted to tell you that they have taken the idea on board and expanded it to encompass all the remaining V force aircraft.

Over the weekend of 27th and 28th June, taking off from Doncaster, the Vulcan will fly north one day and south on the other on a farewell flight around the V Force - and XH558 will be visiting Nelsam to perform our very own mini air display over our Vulcan XL319.

This is likely to be the last opportunity to see XH558 in the North East unless the Sunderland Airshow organisers are able to afford an appearance. (It’s not cheap at around £25,000)

We will be notified of the exact date and time soon but keep the weekend free. There will also be a number of Vulcan related activities at the Museum during the week leading up to the visit.

Was watching the Vulcan flying overhead elvington last week doing some very nice banked turns and extremely low level fast flying, was on the road from Stamford bridge to the a64 just watching it for 25 mins then as I joined the a64 she flew overhead at around 250/400ft before climbing straight up with a hard bank to the left back towards elvington, was a sight for sore eyes
