For anybody out there considering a t350 without air con....I can now comment as mine stopped working at le mans (hot sun and 29C) and was it hot.

Lets just say I think the air con is to stop people burning themselves on the gearshift/handbrake and to stop the trim from ungluing itself.

With heatsoak I would estimate the temp inside the car at a standstill was approacing 40C!!!!

Its being fixed now mind, but my advice would be that if you intend using the car in the summer you need it.

- to add, car went faultlessly other than this and engine is getting smoother and faster all the time, it was ideal for all the luggage and seemed to draw positive comments from a wide range of TVR owners, all of whom seem to want one next!

Alternatively take your roof panels out and do it naturally....

what in traffic at a standstill, methinks not

would just be all the better to enable sun to also enter car....

Bennno - had a similar experience many moons back in Bordeaux in my old Calibra Turbo (black with black leather interior). AC packs up & I'm stuck in traffic on the south side of the city. Outside temp reading 33 degs, inside heats up to the point where "leather" gear gaiter fell off, cd player ejected CDs and refused to play - you have my sympathy.

Methinks that hot air also escapes via convection - even when at a standstill. Still not quite the same as cold air in yer face. I look forward to testing the theory - can't use aircon 'cos it puts me to sleep... not too clever when your driving...

If you are going to do all that then you must go over to Northern Italy (via the Simplon Pass over to Baveno on Lake Maggoire - Hotel Dino is good)

Or it would be criminal to miss the napoloen route accross the mountains down from Grenoble to Monte Carlo.

Or you could go a bit further afield and do the stelvio pass which is reputed to be even better (North East Italy in to Austria)

Air Con is absolutely essential, even with it though when the car was thoroughly heatsoaked in 92 farenheit heat in Italy it was still bloody warm. I would not have liked sitting in the traffic without it.

TVR air con is basically just cold air, not climate control, and is very limited but better than nothing (JUST), it would be nice if TVR could offer a good air con system considering that as an extra it commands proper air con / climate control money.
