We will ensure they are cleaned, looked after and more importantly roped off to ensure they remain away from stray belt buckles and sticky fingers.

I know i'm repeating myself, but has anyone displayed their car before?
I was under the impression that this was the first PH show?

I've had the Escort at the Autosport show for the last couple of years and except for a few d1cks that are the exception to the rule, everyone stays well clear of the cars unless invited for a closer look.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Just talked to Ian - the guy they got in to help for 4 weeks:

Apparently;

All PH'errs showing cars will get 2 sets of tickets - so no worries taking a mate or partner now - cool as.
Cars WILL be roped off from prying fingers etc.
There will be washing facilities for us to clean car's before putting into hall.

And I also rang the Crowne Plaza hotel and if you want to stay there, they are offering a 10% discount to exhibiters - phone them on 0870 400 9160 and qoute 'Autosport'

Look forward to meeting you all.

Rod.

With the tickects provided would we be granted access to the arena on the 10th & 11th aswell as 12th &13th? i.e is the ticket valid for the 10th to the 13th? Can members who are showing their car still get into the NEC on the 10th & 11th?

Part of email sent to me from Ian Tonkin......guess we've all received it by now

Firstly, your cars WILL be roped off so to prevent the cars’ interiors and exteriors from getting damaged. I can also tell you all PHers that have been selected will be receiving two tickets to the show (i.e. one for the owner and one for his/her friend). The ticket grants you complete access to the Autosport show, Pistonheads show throughout the weekend. Your two tickets also grant access to the live action arena on Friday (11 January) only.

Spot on, some of you asked if you could was the road dirt off before going into the halls- so we asked the NEC if we could use an area with a tap.

Zymol team will then detail inside.

i know it may sound petty but does the area with a tap have hose pipes available?

At the Classic show there weren't any hoses - bucket and sponge only.

My dad took the car on a track day Saturday, the blades on the cooling fan decided to come off and visit the radiator yikes thankfully it was as he was entering the pits, so hopefully the engine hasn't been cooked.

I definately can't come now frown

Hello all.

Fresh details of the, erm, detailing: Zymol have confirmed that up-to 150 cars will be getting a full hand wax, glass, trim and tyres detail that will be a show level finish. The cars will be maintained through the show weekend. The cars will need to be free of road dirt before coming into the hall. Again, taps will be available outside (I'll check that there are hoses that can be be attached to those taps...)

I can also tell you that we have, in the supercar paddock, an Aston Martin Vanquish S, Mosler MT900SC (0-60 in 3.1 sec and 6L V8 with 630bhp!), Ferrari F430 Challenge Stradale, Pagani Zonda and Maserati GranTurismo. It's going to be a cracker!

Yep, same here. Reckon I'll still head down in the '78 and have my own car display area in the NEC car park, take the Le Mans security fence, rope it off and detail with rain water and mud. Job done.
