Having had Mini Mac for a good couple of Months now, and still learning more all the time,

still slightly strange to not have any obvious security in the background like AVG or Norton

but what does this do...

probably something innocuos I expect, all the same

No,
read it again and no idea what its on about
if its not security of some sort, then it doesn't much matter

I suppose in the same way my Blackberry handset carries its own security and carries out a daily check on power-up

presumably Mac protects itself in other ways

It is talking about verifying the ICC profiles you have installed.

Colour profiles are to do with calibrating your screen to accurately display colours, eg for print or photo work.

Follow the link at the bottom for a tutorial...

Basically mac's come with all the colour profiles needed to do exact colour matching. The general idea being, dump it on graphics artists desk with an Apple display and he'll know 100% that what he's seeing is what he'll get at the end.

I'd ignore it to be honest and just let it do it's own thing hehe As you probably aren't in need of either the ICC profiles or repairing them smile
