As people sometimes slag them off, thought I’d post that I just had a home visit from Dell to replace the screen on my daughter's 32mth old laptop (which didn’t have extended warranty).

There is a known issue (vertical lines of pixels fail) with the screens on some Dell laptops but our model (Inspiron 510m) isn’t one of those known to be affected.

Anyway, with a bit of gentle pushing they agreed to replace it, and a guy turned this morning and did the job in about 10mins, so well done Dell!

Dell need to do more stuff like this. They are on the brink of either surviving at the top or sinking. They've just taken 2 months to supply us at work iwth two PCs. Noithing special, just two PCs. They've always been slow and their account managers have always been useless. We're changing suppliers and i very much doubt we're alone.
