been looking for a good chimaera for a while now and think i have foung one but it seems too cheap, its a 97 chim 400, 88500 miles lovely cond for the year but its only £12000, usual ticking from exhaust manifold which the owners says will be fixed and the handbrake dont work, he says the cable has gone( is this a big job) , owner has only had it for 1 month but has reason for sale , could not check the paperwork as he said it was at work , then i thought dealer but he said no, no ther probs ,did not drive it as i had another to lookat that day, does this seem too cheap ..

I don't think it is to good to be true - it has done a lot of miles which will drive the price right down, but this is not something to be scared of, although it is guaranteed to cost you something along the way.

If it is straight in every other way, and in good condition given it's mileage then the price is probably around the right mark - if anything a bit on the high side.

All IMO of course.

thank, anyway why is it when i go to see a car thats for salethe owners cant be bothered to clean it, i went to see a 93 chim 400 in cambridge ( a lady owner) and it was perfect with all the paperwork nicley laid out and all big jobs done ,car had 67k on the clock but it was an early model and a bit older than i wanted and she was a real TVR nut, seen lots more for loads more money but they were all gruby, so i am stuck with a spot of indicision do i go for the high 88k milage one 97 model or the 93 chim with 67k , price wise only about £500 diff between them same colour ....

Go for the wedge to start with. You should still have some of your own "wedge" left over in case of problems. I really miss my 350SE 4.0L - only sold it because the missus preferred the shape of the chim. Now she don't like that much either! Women!

Then get a Chim next year or year after.

No - wifey is devoid of any trace of petrol in her blood. She doesn't like any cars really! But.....she bought me a model of a Chim for Xmas from TVRCC so I thought she may be leaning that way. Wrong! So I actually ended up changing cars when I really needn't have. It's a lovely Chim though!
