Once again the little F3 cars get to go to Monza and Spa, while for a change the huge GT cars get......Knockhill.

Great.

And yes, still rubbish 1 hour races. I really hope they'll decide to allow us to make our driver change and refuelling stops like grown-ups next year though - with no minimum time limits. After four years of that I think we're all sick of it now. Belcar and BTCS can do proper FIA-style stops, so we should be allowed to also. The frenetic driver changes used to be half the fun of BGT.

Simple solution: do rounds of another championship where you do get to go to Spa and Monza.

Problem Solved.

Personally, I don;t mind the British GT sticking to British courses, for 2 reasons. 1st, we get more of a chance to see them. Unlike the big league FIA races, the BGT teams nad drivers are, as a whole, very open and friendly. It makes the whole event a great deal of fun. 2nd, as witnessed at Pau and Magny Cours 2 years ago, alot of the teams don't have the budget to drive abroad. Keep it home, keep it British.

Above all I am totally stoked that for my third year of being involved with the BGT that its kicks off easter weekend at Oulton Park. This has become a regular family event. We can;t really afford holidays so this weekend is brilliant. Also, this year Donington Park doesnt come right after meaning that for the fuirst time I may actually be able to get there (I couldnever afford to do it straight after Oulton). Its great Knockhill is on and I wish I could make it, but I worked out that in my 3L v6 Petrol Shogun, it would cost me around £130 there and back in fuel alone. Oh well. Anyone wanna buy a very reliable Shogun? lol

Jeff, thanks for this, thanks for all your work last year and thanks for all the assistance you gave myself and Nik last year. It's proved extremely beneficial and pending models we hope to have alot of this years cars done. Looking at the line up for next year, we should hopefully get a head start.

If BGT is dodging Croft again, i hope you like small crowds because that's what you'll get for F3.

Are you sure? Only question it as Croft is a bit like Coomb in that, as a rule, you could have a 4 car 5 hour enduro race there and still get a better crowd than many other tracks. Just so long as the local fair isn't in Darlington that day, etc.

Hi there,

Quite an early start to the season then.

Does anyone have a date and location for the British GT launch event ?

It was 15th March this year at Silverstone.

Regards

Tim

Hmm, question... I see that SRO are expecting "at least 6" GT4 cars for the BGT... though I don't see where the attraction for a GT4 driver would be of being a mobile chicane on the back of the GT4 field clearly there won't be enuff cars to run a seperate race.

So, given GT4 cars aren't designed to be refuelled... what happens for the 2 hour races???

They ran a GT4 350Z at the Britcar 24 this year so there must be some way of refuelling them.

Yup, but Britcar 24hr refuelling is from a fuel pump aka the highstreet... GT4 spec doesn't include quick refuelling gear to use churns as you would in a GT pitstop.

Cant wait until March the 24th. I love the close fast racing of the F3. The door to door, paint swapping racing of the VW Cup. Then the best part of the whole day the GT race. The sights and the sounds cloud9
