Used my wipers today for the first time and they were tediously slow, they seemed to struggle to make it up the screen. All the fuses and connections look OK - do you think I need a new motor?

Could be , check and grease the joints and mech 1st and make sure the motor is getting a full 12v -(14.4v ish when running).

Thanks Dennis, will do that tomorrow and post back any findings. Thing is it's only a track car, so whilst I've got the mechanism accessible I'm thinking I may as well take the passenger side wiper off, or depending on the motor position re-angle the passenger side wiper to cover the driver's side and part of the passenger side if possible. Failing that, if I need a new wiper I'm quite tempted to get a single wiper motor and mechanism off a Citroen AX from a breakers. I figure it will be lighter and easier to fit than twin wipers, and if it was good enough for the Elise then it's good enough for me.

How can a single wiper be easier to fit than what is already fitted? Is a wiper conversion really required? I'd have thought weight saving and suspension would be much higher up the list...

Mines quite slow...I've been meaning to remove and clean up all contacts. I think there's a reasonably lengthy thread all about this on 205GTIdrivers.

Trying to get it all working nicely for Oulton Park on sat 3rd Nov. But will hopefully be out a few times next year.

Suspension already done thanks,

The car's already as stripped as I can go (I think, check out the car in my profile) so whenever I work on a part of the car I look at it from a weight saving point of view, such as if I need a new wiper motor then why not replace it with a lighter single wiper system?
