Strange Noise From Under The Bonnet??

Something has started making a rattling noise under the bonnet of my Griffith. I'm sure it's not from the engine, as the frequency of the noise is totally different from any engine speed changes. I've tried to lash everything down that I can see is loose, or potentially loose, like hoses, air intake pipes etc, but the noise still persists, at any speed. It sometimes even occurs when moving the car slowly onto my driveway, which has made me think it could be something to do with the bonnet securing mechanism?
Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to fix it?

"bonnet securing mechanism" - strange oxymoron that one!
Do you mean the whippy little strut that you prop it up by (which has been most effectively replaced by many owners with a broom handle as witnessed at Virginia Waters and several Pie meetings), or do you mean the clever little hingey things at the rear corners, or do you mean the actual catch itself?
I wouldn't suggest that any of them actual "secures" the bonnet!
Has your bonnet started to move around in the front "runners" - in which case it might be more secure if you use some tape to increase the size and therefore perfect the fit of the rollers.
A bit of tape around the "wand" might secure it in its "holder" slightly better.
Apart from this, it is, as usual, difficult to diagnose a noise in the depths of the Cyberspace that is PH. But you know how sometimes you hear a noise from somewhere and it turns out to be somewhere else completely? Are you sure it's from the front? E.g. it isn't a loose exhaust bracket that's echoing around the tub is it? Just a thought.....

I wrapped tape around the rollers and the bonnet wouldn't shut. Doh.
You can get Isopon P60 (or whatever it is) filler or fiberglass stuff from Halfords. Put a few small layers in the depressions in the bonnet grooves if you can definitely pin this down as the cause.
Try removing the bonnet at the hinges (easily done on the Griff) and driving it down the road and back. Has the advantage of looking well cool in a kind of hot rod sort of way!
