350ZX Twin-turbo - changing the turbos?

Turbos don't need changing at 60k miles on zeds. I've seen many do a lot more than that on standard turbo's so am inclined to say it's an old wives tale that's spawned due to a few going wrong at that milage. Obviously they're not going to go on for ever and the way the car has been treated previously in terms of how it's driven, modifications and servicing will all have a bearing on their durability. There's no hard and fast rule about it though.
Quite a hefty labour bill I'd imagine, bitch of an engine to work on being as it's in such a small space. The tuners out there who've done a few will probably have turbo swaps down to a fine art (if indeed they worship satan and bother to do them with the engine in situ), but it's much more than a few bolts to get them off put it that way!
