Best Barge Bargains Vol 3 (£5-20k)...
Discussion
No variations either side of these limits, inspired by Zagato's fabulous W8 punt and my own feelings that this range allows broad membership for most whilst not allowing (hopefully) too many utter wrecks and indeed, a few absolute corkers.

OOoo, I am liking that Audi S8 and the Bentley....
The Bentley for pure bankruptcy and the Audi for anonymity... Very tempting!
Still loving these though, but at £21k its a little too pricey for this thread:

You actually going to buy a BB one day..?
Some of these cars still have a huge amount of depreciation to go though.
Sure, an RS4 at £20k is a good buy and not likely to free fall, but you only need to go back to the original thread to see what will happen to a 7 series Beemer...
Not quite a bargain if you buy it for £20k and sell it in a couple of years time for £7k

I have this discussion often: however whilst the logic from a fiscal perspective is irrefutable, there must be a point for all cars when the price-quality 'best value' intersection is passed and due to condition, 'freshness of feel' and such like, the merits are less assured.Sure, an RS4 at £20k is a good buy and not likely to free fall, but you only need to go back to the original thread to see what will happen to a 7 series Beemer...

Of course, personal tolerances are involved but the limits in BBB Pt3 are defined so let's not get too hung up on relativities!
I'm liking the S8 from my opening post: they are such a handsome car...

Absolutely agree with this point. They can be too old to be useful and tasty everyday waft. And, on that subject, the LS430 in the original post looks mighty tempting to someone currently shopping for about £10k of car. Admittedly I need an estate, but who's counting...... You just know that will never break, and while you may indeed die of boredom piloting one (assuming you haven't already flatlined whilst taking in the exceptional dullness of its looks), it will at least be in supreme serenity and utmost comfort. I love it. Edited by o.versteer on Wednesday 24th October 17:26
o.versteer,
Since you mentioned my default preference for plutowafting, the same outfit did these also -

Both immense value. The first car is sheldon green which looks black in all but the brightest light but will undoubtedly need a few hundred sovs' worth of paint correction after which...
(I know, my first LS was this colour and it was a swirlfest from new.)

The mad bugger! I love the idea of some pipe n' slippers old boy buying a 75 then casually deciding it needs supercharging! Exactly the mentality that chump in No.10 should embrace.
