Has anybody got any idea as to the thread on the S3 gear knobs? I’ve just carried out a quick search of the forum, with no joy, although it has been mentioned that there may be many different sizes. If any of you guys have an idea, I would be very grateful, I’ll then get hold of a nut and try to track the correct size down.

The reason I ask is that I’m having a walnut gear knob made, with a TVR badge on the top, this will then match the rest of my wood bits, as the old black plastic one stood out like a sore thumb.

Many thanks

Podie

They vary... just as Simon at Leven!

All over the place.. take your pick. Even cars build consecutively have different size threads!

Out of curiosity, how much is the new knob costing... and where from?

I’ve tried a M10 no joy I’m afraid.

The firm who is making the gear knob for me is called Classic Woodwork from Shirley, Birmingham, they make a lot of wooden bits for classic cars especially Jag’s.
I sourced a silver and black TVR made in England sticker of an M series steering wheel, which will fit nicely on the top before the lacquering. £.80p for the sticker and they estimated 20 odd pounds for the knob, plus P&P.
