Unless there happened to be a gold cerbera spun on the M25 as well, I'm guessing that was mine.

I came down the sliproad and just as I was about to join the main flow of traffic the rear end stepped out and after much slipping and slidding I ended up spinning it.

Not too sure what the damage is, the body work has a few scrapes and a couple of small cracks. The big worry is the rear alloy took a big hit on the kerb - so I don't if there's any hidden damage.

The main thing is I'm okay and no one else was involved.

Neil.

ps. I was really hoping this wouldn't end up in a 'spotted'

Hi. glad to hear you are ok. This is a familiar story happened to me a while back, but lucky for me there was no damage to car.

One of my rear tyre valves had gone faulty and decided to dump 20psi into the road just as i was going on to the A1 sliproad.

Neil, good to hear that you are okay. Hope the car will be well again soon. I hate the roads at this time of year.

The recovery driver said they collect quite a few cars from that junction mostly light sports cars, so it may be something about the junction.

The rear alloy was cracked so I didn't even try driving it, but it looks as if it wouldn't be a problem. It was with the garage as of an hour ago so hopefully in the next couple of days I should have some more news.

Good news, it doesn't seem to bad.

The bodyshop says repairing the body work will not be a problems - it's mainly just cosmetic, but there is one crack.

The parts have been ordered (new wheel, and suspension parts) and that't it.

They reckon it will all be 'done and dusted' by the end of the month.

Insurance company is sorting it all out.

Neil.

thats good to hear! so were you perhaps driving a bit too quickly for the road conditions? or did it just let go? Always made me feel very nervous driving my cerb at this time of the year when hearing these tales!

I wish I knew - it seemed to just step out, however there must have been a reason.

The slip road doubled back on itself, so was a 180 degree bend, and I made it all the way through the corner (so the difficult bit was done). I didn't think I was going particulary fast, but I'm guessing the car wasn't quite straight and I started accelerating to join the traffic. But the M25 at the time was only doing about 50mph.

But as I said at the start - I wish I knew.
