I posted this up on another thread but thought you kit boys might be interested. Its a car I bought as a project, not 100% sure what I was going to do with it but have been looking out for something stupid to squeeze the driveline into. However it's likely to be up for sale soon as I'll needing the space & not sure I've got the time to anything with it, along with my other projects.

Its a very rare Toyota/Lexus Aristo Zi-Four, basically a 4.0 4WD GS300, its currently a complete & running car, but I'll most probably be turning into bits very soon. I assume the driveline would be very interesting for a project of some sorts, perhaps a Cobra replica or similar?

Anyway here's some pictures of what is underneath. (not the actual pictures but just to give you an idea) It's currently an auto but it would be easy to convert using a Hilux or Fourunner manual gearbox & aftermarket bellhousing. Or stick with the Auto & use a manualised paddle shift system thats recently been developed for these auto boxes.

Would make an awesome driveline, rear diff is a Torsen unit too.

If anybody interested feel free to PM me, the car is currently driveable & available to be seen. Would be keen to see it put to good use.

I recognize those pics of the drivetrain! smile

Seems a shame to break that, Declan. How did the suspension conversion go?

Front suspension is done, on coilovers now, fairly easy once I sussed it all out. Yeah is a shame to break it but the cost to the paintwork it needs is probably going to add to be more than the car is worth. Though I might still do it & use it, not decided yet.

That will always be the problem with something rare, interesting, but undesirable to all but a very few. It would be nice to sort the bodywork and fit two new air shocks and a height controller, but you'd have to accept that you probably wouldn't get the money back if you had to sell it.

I wonder how much the suspension units cost. I know there's someone in Australia who replaced front and rear on his Zi-Four.

Anyway, give me a shout if you sell it as a going concern, you never know...... smile
