Help ! - need some advice on a couple of chimaera mot failure points ;

leaking steering rack pinion seal (pas) - is there a kit for this? is the whole rack a bespoke tvr part or is the casting (and seal?) pinched from something else with tvr inards? The price quoted from TVR must have been for a batch of 5 racks !

Leaking front damper - the old chestnut! can't afford nitrons yet but need a good alternative to std shocks, anybody tried 'Gaz' shocks at all ? is changing these an easy diy option ? or is it one of those 2 hour jobs that turn into a whole nightmare weekend senario?

thanks to averybody in advance, sorry about all the questions but need to get the mot soonish for the tax etc . Whould normally go the specialist Tvr dealer route but have blown all the TVR kitty at Le Mans - worth every penny though !

Can't help on all of this but I had a similar problem with the PAS. In the end I went to Offord Motors who are a TVR specialist, not main dealer (nr St Ives) and had it refurbushed (by the way it is a TVR special). I also had a full service and MOT done at the same time and it came to about £860. Very good service (both technical and customer).
