different engine mounts.
XU in a 205
TU in the 106.
Saying that I've heard someone fitting an Mi16 into an AX - which is basically XU and TU.

Why would you want to? The 16V TU engines would be a better bet.

Would not bother as the management on these engines is now old technology and as said previously a TU series engine from another 106 would offer better results.

Agreed - pointless exercise. Just fit the 16v unit from a Saxo

If you're putting an XU in a 106 it may as well be a 16v. There's a few of those knocking about now.

VTS/106 GTi use the same engine and box, both of which are the same series as the engine and box in your car, TU and MA respectively. So any 106/Saxo box will fit any 106/Saxo engine, I've heard of people using the S1 Rallye, S2 Rallye, XSi (1.6 and 1.4) and GTi/VTS boxes, not sure on the ratios though. I'd expect the S1 Rallye box to be the shortest there.

So GTi/VTS engine, loom and box are necessary, suspension and brakes would be very advisable.
