Hey Guys,

I've just move north with my girlfriend and my 72 Dodge Dart and am looking for a house to rent and a job too!! Not much to ask I know, but any advice would be a great help. We'd prefer live in the Royal Deeside area and have a budget of about £700 pcm. Job wise I've been driving a 7.5 truck prior to taking off for 5 months on a round the world trip but before that was running the parking department of a recovery company in Kent. Obviously I'd like to have a job which is car related, wouldn't we all eh?

Any help or advice would be a appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Now that is a car and a half fella, nice one, Oh and welcome to the Bonniest country in the world!!

There is plenty of work in the Grampian area, generally oil industry related, best thing is to speak to agencies w.r.t to work.

Look forward to hearing that motor......ears

Steve,

That's where I am so I'll have a look in the local (weekly) paper tonight and post back with any prospects for both work and accommodation.

Cheers,

Eric smile

Welcome to God's own Country smile You, your car, and, your GF . FIT LIKE?

For job opportunities, our local rag, The Press & Journal, aka Neep News has an excellent job section each Thursday. Check online at www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk

Don't make the mistake of buying into the "Royal Deeside" cachet address. There is beautiful scenery all round Aberdeen, depending on what rings your bell!

Let's hope we get the opportunity to check out your Dodge and your GF soon. paperbag OOps, sorry about that last bit. It's the oilfield mentality leaking out!

Thanks for the welcome and suggestions. We have rentals to look at this week and will start the search for jobs once that's sorted. My g/f is from Aboyne hence the search locally as she still has family here.

I'll feel better once I hear my old V8 too, it's been laid up for 5 months and I'm away to get it going right now!!

Hope to catch you guys soon

Steve,

I did have a look in the paper (Deeside Piper) but there was bugger all really.

If your partner is fae Aboyne and (by inference) you're already here, then I'm sure you'll be up to speed on that sort of thing anyway.

Have you looked for property on the ASPC website?

Do you know that jobs day in the P&J is a Friday?

Cheers,

Eric

Hey Eric

Yes we are already here and have made friends with the aspc!! Thanks for the heads up on the P&J though. Cheers mate.

I got the engine running, after buying a new battery, totally confused the assistant though when he asked what car it was for!! Got one for a V8 Range Rover instead, did the trick no problem. Changing the oil and trans fluid on Tues, so watch out for a very loud and very yellow Dart round Aberdeen later in the week!!!
