As posts below, one of the database servers developed a problem which I am working on, but I have now removed it from the website so it should stop the errors.

Every time I try and post today I have to submit about 5 times to get it to post because of this error.

All posts appear except 'Poppy oneupmanship' on P&P, which repeatedly throws me out.

Can't post, keep getting this error.

But strangely this took 6 attempts to edit to say it posted first time!

Is there any way of warning me before I spend time creating a post that it's going to be junked by the site being basically disfunctional? I'd not have to bother then.

I'm not getting too many of these so I'm not angry. However when I click on a classifieds ad (linked from the forums) I get the error message. If I close and click again, it works fine. I'm on OSX with safari.

use firefox, if you hit back when you get the error message your post will still be there.

We are still looking into the logs on the servers to see why it is doing this in the new configuration (which is exactly the same as the old one). Apologies for the time it is taking to narrow down the causes of these intermittent blips on the posting.

We are trying to solve it.

On most browsers if you click back after receiving the error you will get the original post text without having to type it in again.

Note that you may have to hit 'refresh' to get the 'submit' button to re-activate itself.

Loads of posting problems today frown and if I hit 'back' on the browser it won't let me submit the text again.

You can get round the "can't resubmit" problem by copying and pasting - my typing is so appalling I daren't try and retype and recorrect all my errors!!

Only been a programmer for 20 years but still can't type frown
