Title says it all really, but which systems is the best. Can the Squeezebox be set up to stream sync'd and independant music to different rooms?

I'm moving house and want to have streamed music around the house in different rooms.

As an alternative to wireless, is there a wired alternative?

The Sonos is meant to be a good product but I'm sure Plotloss's radar will pick this up as he's your man on these matters.

We have a central HDD / NAS with all our music on, which is connected to the router.

We've had no issues with 5 devices streaming MP3's, with each playing different music.

I thought those kind of devices sat at the hifi end which means you'd need multiple devices?

Plotloss put in a Wired system in my place..

Central media server, providing 12 different feeds be they mp3's or internet radio etc to 3 central 4 zone amps that power speakers in all the zones.

Controlled by a interface that works on touch screens or pc's.

sonos is brilliant. We've got two connected to a NAS which holds all our music. In this way we can play the same or different music / radio in each room/ Will be adding at least two more in the near future smile

just been doing some digging and the squeezebox comes in two flavours - wireless and wired (wired being cheaper). It will also allow independent and sync'd song play (Party Mode)

Seems that I have found the answer to my question.

Cheers.
