XP - Mandatory Profile for Local Account?

I know how to configure a domain account to use a mandatory user profile, but I'm struggling with this as it just doesn't appear to work.

I have a standalone PC, all I want is to have a local account called "User" which has a mandatory set of settings so that anything the user does whilst logged on is discarded when the account is next logged on.

It seems you can't point the "Profile" setting on the User Account to a local path i.e. C:\User.

Am I missing something obvious?
