I need to buy a new rear wheel bearing assembly for my partners '03 Cooper S. I've tried German, Swedish & French (GSF) which would normally be my first port of call for this type of thing but they don't stock, and they say it's probably a BMW only part.

Does anyone know of an independent supplier who can sell me the bearing assembly and rough idea of cost?

Thanks for your help.

You could try a breakers.

I know 1320 autos break MINI's and so does a place called MINIMatt

Thanks for the reply, but I really wouldn't consider fitting a second-hand bearing to the car. I've phoned around a few specialists today and I believe the wheel bearing hub assembly is only available from a main dealer - unless anyone knows otherwise?

I'm not technically minded, so apologies if it would be a safety issue or similar to fit a second hand bearing.

I hope you get the part you need and it doesnt cost a small fortune! smile

The rear wheel bearing comes as a complete hub unit from BMW and costs £110. eek

I thought I'd be able to get exactly the same part, made by the same manufacturer, but not in a BMW box for a lot less money?
