I'm going to be in the UK for a few days - but I have to go up to Dover Street (just off Piccadilly) on Friday to move our London office to new premises. The kit can all go in the hire car and I remember the area as I used to work on St James's Street. Question is - What time does the A12/M25 start to ge absolutely heaving nowadays ? And are there loads more Cameras on the A13/North Circular ?

Cheers

For Fridays M25 is always heaving. You can guarantee slowdowns from 5am to 8pm. A12/M25 Junction is one of the worst.
A13 and A127 are also bad and don't forget you will also be paying congestion charge.
Good Luck
Mike

Depending on whether you take A12 or A13 there are cameras on both & in usual way in Red Ken land the speed limit dives between 30 - 50 for no apparant reason. If you do go on the A13 watch out for a cheeky high level scamera just before the Chequers Lane junction.

Was probably going to go A12 > M25, then M11/A406 > A13 - Come in via Docklands to Embankment then up Northumberland Ave > Trafalgar Square along Pall Mall and then St James's Street to the NCP on Arlington Street (behind the Ritz)

Is that the best route nowadays or am I going to get stuffed with traffic ? (I think I'm going to be stuffed either way by the looks of things !)

I don't tend to go much further than Upton Park but when I do need to I'd probably go same way mate.

Personally I avoid M25 altogether & go A12, A130 to Benfleet, A13 & in, but don't know what traffic's like on the circular first thing - on a saturday tends to be a nightmare.

Avoid the A12 & A127 into London at all costs, the A13 is far and away the quickest/most free flowing of the eastern approaches. I would go A12, A130, A127, then over to the A13 using Lower Dunton road.
