Got to be one of the most savage flips I've ever seen yikes

Who the hell built the ramp by the side of the track?!

Ooof! That is a violent one too. Loses points though for lack of elevation and fuel/coolant spraying in a neat arc through the air wink

I saw Kelvin Burt flip his Carrera Cup car over the fence at Thruxton early this year. Gnarly dude!

Saw the photos of that Thruxton knock. Couple of fairly startled marshals afterwards too.

That Aussie Porsche smash was followed by an identical one in the V8 supercars the same weekend. They were using the long track layout at the circuit. The short track layout joins the circuit at that point and there's a built up kerb on the inside of the corner. Problem is, as you approach it on the long track, its effectively a 6 inch high launch ramp. Hit it at full race speed and away you go.

This could have been a lot worse too

The ones I don't like are the caterham style cars, where you see the chaps arms flapping around outside the car... Ouchy!

Caterhams aren't heavier.

Many Caterham racers now wear arm restraints.

Sorry I was referring to the M3 and the 911 in particular, should have specified.

The main cabin stays in amazing shape.

Horrible, reminds of Greg Moore's fatal the way it flew sideways...

didn't that aston martin fly further in that accident than in the first ever flight by an aircraft?

Yes it says on the caption at the end of the video the DB9 did 145ft, Wright Brothers only did 120ft.

i didn't watch all of the clip, just remembered hearing it somewhere. that is a pretty cool fact though, one hundred years arfter the first flight we have cars that can go further and faster.

He might have done that, he certainly had a limp on the sunday when he was back in the paddock.

I fitted the On Board Camera you see it from first on that link.
