seats, i want to mount the seat lower, can i use a side mounted seat and weld the bottom mounts to the floor or would i have to use the same position as the original subframes.

not too bothered about the seat being stuck in one place as the only people likely to drive it are around the same height as me!

We strengthened the original crossmember on the front part of the seat mountings and added another bar to mount the rear part of the seat mount onto. Welded nuts into it and was perfect, you never know when you will need to remove the seat bracket or make an adjustment.

If you're building this car for racing, you need to conform with the Blue Book specification for mounting points (see Q2.2).
