Would fitting XUD9 306 DTurbo injectors to an XUD7 205 DTurbo make any difference? are they bigger? Also is the Lucas/CAV pump on the XUD7 the easily 'turn-uppable' type?

If they fit and you can increase the pump fuelling then yes.
