Fiesta - Wing Mirror Action?

On the Fiesta I just bought (X reg - 2000)- the drivers wing mirror and taken a hit and was taped up. I bought the car o nthe assumption that the casing needed fixing (the glass is ok)

Its an electronic mirror.

I took of the tape today and the electrnic glass til lworks and the actuall mirror stays on independently and seems pretty solid. It still bends back - which it tis meant to so incase you hit another car

It might feel a little 'flimsy' i am not sure

anyone know how i can test to see if its on properly?

Normaly when they get hit it damages the securing screw mounts behind the mirror glass this holds the mechanism in place,take off the mirror glass and have a look.Other than that without seeing it it's very difficult to know.

this osunds kind accurate from what i have seen

so hopefulyl i can just get a mechanism out of another mirror? rather than replace the entire shell?

You can replace certain parts if you have a spare mechanism or the whole mechanism.
