Damn.. A turbo bulkhead box is available ready made for about 30 notes! Puts a bit of strength back after hacking out lumps of metal too.
What a death trap..

It's hard to believe there are people out there who are so clueless that they will happily cut sections out of structural members and provide no reinforcing. I guess the a big box section running the full width of the bulkhead didn't give any clues to him...

P,
puts a bit of strength back, but not much!
when I put a turbo box into a mini I had to massively reinforce what was left of the bulkhead before I felt comfortable about the lateral strength of it.

But better than nothing!

At least he hasn't tried to hide the hole with carpet...... wink

I'd like to see the look on the MOT man's face though when he comes to test it!

I agree with you in the fact that it is completely dangerous as is and needs a lot of working doing to the bulkhead to make the car safe, but the car is being sold as a project and with no MOT. And anyone in their right mind would put it on trailer and the seller even says that it needs to be towed.

At least he is being honest unlike other people who bodge by hiding problems with excessive use of fibreglass and other things (There are too many to list).

Look at this way depending on how good the rest of the shell is you could get a good deal
A body shell, 998 engine with turbo, set of cooper discs, Some tools, and a 1275 engine.

Obviously you would want to have a look but a lot of people will just be looking away and it might not sell or only one or two bids.

What a tit !

If you really want a mini turbo then there's only three letters you should look for isnt there?. No, not BHB (bulk head bodge) but ERA.

That said, not too many come up for grabs anymore. A quick google search did turn up one though

bit more wedge, granted, but at least this bloke can spell, and presumably walk without dragging his knuckles on the deck !

There are far better turbo minis than the ERA http://www.turbominis.co.uk

I had an ERA Mini.. Despite the hype at the time, the engine wasn't all that. But in every other respect, it was a great Mini. Very well put together with a quality interior, and handled very well indeed.

I managed to gather some key ERA parts to use when I put together my Turbo 30 too.
