Guess this comes under general motorsport... http://www.redbullairrace.com

Went in 2006 when it was cancelled (£30/car) but what annoys me is that fact that all apart from the UK rounds are FOC, now this year the London round was £30/person.

So next year may have to look at the international options and get a holiday into the bargain!

Anybody else seen this event live?

Perth - Australia is free, large area's to watch from and good weather to boot.

Bit of a distance, but worth it.

edit: Grandstands there is a charge, but theres plenty of free viewing, the planes land right at the side of the river too, on what is usually just a green area for playing football.!!

I went to Interlaken and London. Neither were free.

The Interlaken event was amazing, setting was beautiful, the course was 100 yards from the crowds, and you get to walk through the "pits", talk to ground crew and pilots. I will definately go back in 2008.

it kicked ass when i saw the warm ups in Istanbul. Amazing back drop and the (lack of) Turkish Health and Safety was great!

The Hungary event is pretty good too, with the planes flying under a bridge in Budapest. Top city, good weather and fantastic fun.
