although i can't find any links, only what is on the TV (Sky News & BBC News24)

Died of ill health at the age of 69.

Presumably, he was not attempting to jump over the hospital on a Raleigh Grifter at the time? With lead weights bolted to his arms? And hungry alligators in his panniers?

I'm going to guess he was 72. No cheating please...
