Is there a permanent fix for the pain in the arse that is the 6006E cd player? I've had ours to bits a few times to rescue missing cds which renders the whole thing inoperable. CDRs seem to be virtually certain to break it so we don't use them any more but some normal cds seem to throw it in to confusion too. Is there a fix for all this or is the only way forward to sling it?

I had the same problem, had to have the other halfs out of the dash a couple of times too. Haven't found a fix yet. Does yours do the 'cd error' thing a lot too?

Yes it does. If you put in a cd it doesn't like it fails to grip it correctly and then loses it and we get the cd error sign. The only thing to do then it to pull the head unit, take the lid off and retrieve all the cds and let it start over. The insides are so flimsy and so complex I'm amazed it works at all frankly but the wife is less impressed.

On the plus side I learned how to activate the climate control self-diagnosis and reset today and she has hot air again and I learned how to get the dash diagnostics working which amused me for a while. All too complicated by half though wink
