Thought I'd post up some pictures taken of my Mini just back from the mechanics plus a little history behind it.

It was bought 2 1/2 years a go as a first car that I could learn to drive in and then use as a daily run around.
Reliability was ok, with only a few minor niggles that needed repairing. These included a couple of rust patches and due to it burning oil I took the chance to change the head for a slightly better one. Next step was to fit the stage 1 kit, which seemed to make it a bit more "revvy", plus with the RC40 back box the louder sound made it feel at least like it was going faster.
Without that many problems seeming to occur it came to March this year and with a dodgy inner driveshaft that sent it to the mechanics I had the rest of it looked at. Next step, mechanic on the phone, a list of problems bigger than my mums shopping list, a load of misery and the decision was made whether or not to have it fixed. There was more than just mechanical problems, the dreaded rust had hit the car pretty bad.
So deciding to have it fixed, my Father had the bright idea of having a total body restoration done on it as well. So there it stayed at the mechanics, way longer than what I thought (long enough that I had to buy another mini), right until last week.

I have to apologise for the photos, but being at uni I had to get my mum to take them!

It has stayed the same tahiti blue colour but now has a white roof added, coach stripes, bonnet stripes, white wing mirrors, widened wheel arches, chrome grill, stainless steel bumpers, cobra buckets, colour coded back seats, anthracite Supalight alloys plus a Sony stereo system.

Lots of thanks go to the mechanic and painter as both have done a great job and have charged very little for their work.

Now other than having to wait 2 weeks before I can get home from uni to drive it, I can start my personal project of creating a trackday car out of my mini city.

I bet it goes well with a 1380 powering it.
May get twin carbs and a stage three head for the Tahiti, but Im going to leave it to the mini city to have the 1380.

I love action shots of minis. What track are you driving at?

Edited to add: Forget that question, just read on the other thread its at Harewood. I would be scared to take mine hillclimbing or anywhere near a track, hence the reason for really wanting to build the other one.
