Hello fellow PHers.

I’m looking for your help and relatively quickly if at all possible – (forms need to be filled in and signed).

My 15 year old son needs to find a work experience place at a yet undisclosed date in 2008 and rather than the standard dreary data-entry placements would thoroughly enjoy working in one of the following –

Car engineering company
Sports car service/maintenance garage
Car design firm
Car component design/manufacture or sales company

Or similar (motorcycle industry included)

Being a petrol head he would be absolutely overjoyed if there was a place in any type of motorsport (cars/bikes/karting) environment.

As yet I’m unsure if the placement is for 1 or 2 weeks, it will be at some point in 2008, there is no cost to the company who accepts him that I am aware of and the only potential inconvenience is that the company MAY be visited by a member of CWE (Croydon Work Experience) to ensure he’s not bunking off school.

We are based in Croydon, Surrey and have very good mainline train links to London, Brighton and everywhere between, he is also familiar with the public transport network in and around Kent.

If you own or work at such a company in this geographical area I’d be very grateful if you could either offer a placement or mention it to your employer.

Please PM me if you can help.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Might be wort trying Barwell Motorsport and West Surrey Racing. I'm sure they will offer some sort of work experience scheme. Stick the names in google and you'll find the contact details easy enough!

Cheers

Goodwood would be well worth contacting.
Arena Motorsport in Littlehampton
Lyddon Hill Circuit
Brands Hatch Circuit
Any number of car preparation teams in Kent too.

Do a search on the Autosport Directory for names or get upto the show in January to meet some faces.
