Business Christmas Cards

Right, never had to really consider this before, but this year I've just written out some cards. They're going to people that have paid us money, been involved in paying us money and people that might pay us money.
Do you think this is sniffing up the wrong passage a bit, or would you be happy to receive a personlised, hand written, thank-you type card for xmas fro mone of your clients?
In this day and age does it say 'feck don't these people have anything better to do?', or does it spell out a 'nice to be remembered at this time of year - and great of someone to take the effort to sit down and write out a card' type of affair?

Every year I commission my mum (who creates small numbers of very high quality hand-made cards) to create a company cristmas card to suit a design brief I give her. The brief is usually along the lines of must reflect my companys colour (although not necessarily match exactly), demonstrate a graphical take on christmas (no religous stuff or tacky santa's) and use very good quality materials.
She comes up with various ideas and I choose the best one which she then duplicates in the numbers I require.
I find my clients seem to appreciate them more than commercially available cards and some even seem keen to find out what this years deisgn is going to be.

I don't have that many to do so was going to hand write some cards, personally I think it's a nice touch. Had though of doing some kind of e-xmas thing but thought that was rubbish and a proper piece of card would be a good idea.

Sweet.... These cards are all locally produced 'scenes' from our rural village, and sold in aid of the school fund, though there's nothing on them to indicate this.She comes up with various ideas and I choose the best one which she then duplicates in the numbers I require.

They do mainly incorporate the village name, so hopefully people will know where they are coming from.
Couldn't bear to send out a bunch of cards from a box bought in Smith's

I'd seriously love to do something like this, I have a few clients that have really kept us alive this year but unfortunately at the moment we just haven't got the cash.I'd promisseed myself that I would get all their kids something... alas it's just not going to happen this year.
Maybe next time I visit in person I will take something over along these lines.

My old firm just sent an URL at the bottom of all outgoing emails with a flash Xmas card to 'save the environment', and 'apparently' sent a cheque for the amount saved on postage to charity.
How lovely for them - it's good my suppliers weren't as tight, i've still got some Xmas booze left over!!

I always go for "Quantity" as well as quality, so we send out lots of boxes of M&S biscuits with Christmas stickers all over them from our company. I think that this is better than drink as everyone gets to share whilst still working and it doesn't get hidden away by a small number of people.

We tend to send out a company card, with our logo of a stag resting under a tree but festivised i.e the stag has a red nose and there are baubles on the tree.
We then give away a wooden case containing a couple of bottles of decent wine, one red and one white.
Funny how I always over order......
