I need to crop some images to 'A' proportions (eg A4 etc), namely 1:1.415

I know I can set the absolute size of the crop tool, but in this case I want to set just the proportions. Holding Shift only gves me a square.

Is there an answer folks?

In the options for the Rectangular Marquee tool there are 3 options. Normal, Fixed Ratio and Fixed Size. Select Fixed Ratio and enter the figures you want.

Marquee not Crop?

In the rectangular marquee drop down box it simply says 'No tool presents defined for current tool'.

Not sure what you mean (this is CS2 if that makes a difference)

The way I crop things is to use the rectangular marquee tool to select the area I want then Image > Crop. Didn't realise there was actually a crop tool itself smile

The crop tool is the 4th one down on your tool bar smile
