What card type does it take?
They can be had for less than a tenner - try the usual..

Go get one.
I find it's quicker to take the card out and plug it into a USB card reader than find a connecting lead, wait for the camera to switch on and wait for the 'special' software to load and detect the camera.
Transfer speed is a bit faster and it doesn't run down the camera battery.
