When I try to access google, igoogle or gmail, I get an error:

Safari said:
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://google.co.uk/

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for google.co.uk
The dnsserver returned:

Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query.
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
I'm assuming its my end (I'm on a university network) but does anyone know how to fix it? Running tiger and safari.

Thanks

Hmm appears to be working fine now. I have no idea why though.

Maybe the DNS server couldn't resolve the google address without the www in front?

More likely your university's admins playing with their DNS config and screwing it up for a bit.
