Just been getting a rubbing sound/ on off rubbing over about 3 secs and the TC light comes on on some bends. Its all low speed.
Im not losing traction, and booked it in for Monday.

Any idea what it might be. D110 G4 its a 53 year. (04) 39500 miles. does it sound expensive?

The wheel feels fine, it feels more like from the suspension on the front left.

May just be a loose wheel bearing. As the hub goes out of line the sensor is mis-reading hense the TC light.

Have you been off-roading in mud? Could be a build-up of dried mud around the calipers - give it a good jet wash round the brakes from all angles. If you do that everytime you've played in the mud your wheel bearings will last a lot longer too.

Hi

Had a LR techy sit in the car, andwould it do it, nope. although it did a tiny bit. They had a drive and a look underneath but could not find anything amiss/ too obvious. Front wheel bearings are fine. They said to monitor and come back if it get worse. Praise- Caffins in Lewes they didnt charge as no fault found, which was good of them.

Typical when you want the faul to show, it doesnt!. Im happy that there is nothing 'obvious wrong' and will book it in for a major service in a few months.

No more off roading since ages ago, so dont think its a build up of mud, and Im sure the techy would have seen that. Just thinking if it might be from the stearing rod and not the wheel(s) hmmm....I will think on that.

Out of interest whats involved in a Major service or a C service ?

Hello,

My 90 has just had the major C service. All oils have been changed (Diff’s, transfer-box, gear-box and engine oil) and the cooling was changed and the brake fuel has been changed. Not sure what else was done but they gave it a good checking over (not a main dealer).

Guess the usual stiff was done also, like air filer and other bits. Do you have a copy of Rave? This is a CD which contains all the info you need. I can send you a copy.

As Bracken said, just about everything with fluid in gets changed - engine, diffs, swivels (yours would have grease not oil in), transferbox, main box, brake fluid, coolant plus all filters and odds and sods like handbrake adjust etc.

If it's not being done at a LR specialist/dealer, make sure they really do know which type and spec of which fluid goes in where as LR use odd fluids sometimes - depending on which manual box a 90/110 has it might need hypoy90 gear oil or ATF or 15W40 engine oil! wobble

thanks for the replys.

It would be done at a main dealer. Im looking/planning a tour around the coast of Scotland in June over 5 days with the Dog and camping, so getting it geared up for that.

Children and wife get left behind. how sad....
