hello, you'll probably need to get the car set up on a rolling road now you have fitted a stage 1 kit so the fueling is right. depending on how well looked after the engine has been you should be looking at about 65BHP ish but every engine is different. my 998 with a stage 1 kit and a nicci downdraft carb is running at 58BHP i don't know how but it could be that yours will make more as well.

a 3" exhaust is big i've got a 2.5" pipe and i have had to squash it a bit next to the gear selector to stop it knocking.

hope i have been of some help,
marc

A question dose you exhast manifold have a "Y" section? Could the "Y" section be on the wrong way round?

Check that the kit came with a replacment neadle for the carb. It is hard to say on power but 5-10bhp?

Hope this helps Dan

thanks both for your help when i said center pipe i mean tail pipe and the "y" piece you talk about is in the correct possition but the long middle pipe is touching the drivers side of the tunnel which in result has my tail pipe atleast 3" off center. Also the flanges which connects the manifold to the head are half as thick as the flanges on my original cooper inlet manifold so my washers dont sit flush on both fittings which has resulted in the center seprate piece of my manifold blowing like mad but the exhaust still sounds awsome... BUT AND THIS IS A GREAT BUT...I spoke to John Ashley in person i told him my problems and as good as gold to my suprise he asked me to take my car to the Ashley team on dec 28th for a custum fit FREE of charge. Im thrilled to bits with the outcome, and cant wait to get her finished. i will keep you posted and send you some footage on my progress befor and after my respray. thanx for your help guys .
