Hi,

I've just bought an XJS 4.0 Auto post facelift which looks terrific but will probably require some work over the course of teh next 12 months. I'd always promised myself a rolling resto at some stage and here it is. I also have an '03 530i and a Mini Cooper S so have the availabel time.

Does anyone on here have any good contacts, will probably start with the steering, brakes and suspension (having lost the back end on a roundabout on teh a5 near shrewsbury yesterday!!). Body work is excellent for year and engine appears good (oil pressure temp etc) though teh check engine light does come on after 20 mile sor so (any ideas?).

No doubt not the most sensible choic eof car but prices will rise I reckon and they do look good don't they??

sounds super! I fancy a convertible one as a summer Sunday driver.

What colour - got any pics?

Firstly, join the JEC. There is a wealth of information available there including 'technical guru's'. The magazine is stuffed full of interesting articles and companies covering everything you may require.

For spares, I use SNG Barratt for 95% of the stuff I want (which is quite a bit for an XJ40, an X300 and a Series 2 in rebuild!). Quality stuff at competetive prices with good service.

I've found Grublogger very good.

Excellent choice. Miss my Celebration but it went to good hands.
